I study the foraging behaviors of insect pollinators and how they mediate plant reproduction. Specifically, I looked at how visitation rate and nectar versus pollen feeding behaviors affect Asteraceae seed set. I did so by limiting flowers to a single pollination event, observing the behaviors of the pollinators, and counting the number of seeds the flowers produced. I found these behaviors influence Asteraceae seed set and will soon be looking at the role of pollen nutrition in this relationship.
