Research
I am a 4th-year PhD candidate in the Russo Lab, EEB department. My research is focused native bees, their community-level resource partitioning among fl owering plant communities, and the pollination of rare plants. I also study the effects bee-antagonists (in this case ambush predators) have on plant-pollinator interactions and plant fitness. In Tennessee, I have worked in the cedar glade ecosystem and in a restored savanna on the Cumberland Plateau. Outside of my research projects, I am especially interested in wild bee population monitoring, documenting species' phenologies and habitat preferences, and the conservation of rare or poorly-understood species.
