Research
I study rapid evolution using next-gen technology like RNASeq, RADSeq, and whole genome sequencing. My study organism is Olney's bulrush Schoenoplectus americanus, a coastal wetland plant that forms natural seed bank that can serve as an archive of historical populations. Reviving and studying these organisms, a technique known as resurrection ecology, is a major part of my work.
