Hannah V. Herrero

Assistant Professor, Department of Geography

Research

My work focuses on using remote sensing to address conservation challenges. I do this through the monitoring of vegetation dynamics; land use and land cover change; understanding the implications of scale and scaling in remote sensing and modeling analyses; and people and parks. My research of highlighting environmental change for conservation has a particular concentration on protected areas and savanna science. While my work is applicable globally, I have a strong regional focus on southern Africa.
